I found Align and hot yoga by accident. Six months ago I got into an accident and could not do my regular hiking/gym exercises. As a result, I had put on a lot of weight, was diagnosed with prediabetes, gout and couldn’t wear shoes. Within 4 months of hot yoga at Align, I was able to reverse gout, prediabetes and dropped 50 lbs. As I had limited prior experience, I decided to take 60 hour YTT. The program was transformational for me. I learned how to do poses correctly, prevent injuries and how to focus on right muscles during poses vs trying to do the pose incorrectly. I really liked the focus from Kaila and Lindsey on safety and injury prevention. Within a few days of adopting the learnings from the classes, I could see my poses getting deeper and pain reducing. Although I didn’t originally intend to teach, the course gave me the confidence that I could teach, and have decided to work on it. If you are a new or experienced hot yoga practitioner, I would strongly recommend taking the 60 YTT.
